Tim Girard - Sound of Body, Mind and Spirit

My name is Tim Girard, and I am a composer, percussionist, teacher, sacred sound artist, visual artist, writer and comic book collector.  I have been commissioned by various ensembles to compose a number of pieces (Fanfare and March, FIREBIRD, Growing Pains, Fusion, IndigoCrystalRainbow, Genesis), as well as the scores for short films (Earth: The Final Hour, Black Nascar Driver).  As a percussionist, I have performed with the Brown Percussion Ensemble, the Prout School pit orchestra, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Community Orchestra, the Thayer Symphony Orchestra and the American Band.  I teach private drum lessons at More Than Music and the Community College of Rhode Island, as well as instruct the URI Ram Band Drumline and the Franklin High School Drumline.  I offer sacred sound workshops, classes, meditations and private sessions, as well as meditation CDs for purchase (Fibonacci Spiral Meditation, Chakra Chanting Meditation and Rainbow Bridge).  On the visual end, I have done painting, wood burning and geometric sculptures using straws and string.  I have also written various poems, essays and stories, and am in the process of writing my "fictional autobiography".  I have an impressive comic book collection, which led me to start a comic book club for elementary schools, in order to assist the students with reading, by activating their imagination.
